In beamng the max resolution is 1080p 59htz, i have a 60htz monitor and can't find a way to set the game to 1080p 60htz. This is not much of a problem but if i pause the game occasionally i can see a line go from the top to the bottom. Is there a solution to this? Or is it really in 60htz and i'm seeing things?
Sometimes the Hz may mismatch. What screen mode are you using (Fullscreen? Windowed? Borderless?) Are you actually achieving a stable 60FPS? More or less can introduce tearing, which is cured by enabling Vsync (in Fullscreen mode only, Windows apply this automatically to the whole desktop, means it's always enabled in the other two modes.)
I'm in fullscreen and getting 60+ fps but vsync makes obvious fps drops on most games I play, so I don't enable it, but I'll give it a try.
You should be able to select a refresh rate from Beam itself. If you enable vsync, disable the frame limiter. Frame limiter + vsync = stuttering from my experience. Not to mention that Vsync makes the frame limiter pointless...
That screenshot made me realize i didn't have the drivers for my monitor installed as it displayed as generic pnp monitor, unfortunatly installing them didn't change anything. The max resolution is still 1680×1050 59hz
Have you checked the bottom of the menu? i've had the 60Hz Highest resolution option appear at the bottom before.
Is Windows itself set to 60hz? (You can check that in Win10 from 'Display Settings' > 'Advanced Display Settings') What cable is the monitor connected with?
If you open the OSD while the game is running, what refresh rate is the monitor reporting? If 60hz, it's more likely Windows feeding the game wrong rates, but the game is probably running at 60hz. The tearing in that case is due mismatching FPS (below or over 60FPS) without Vsync. If you use Borderless mode, you should not see any tearing as Windows itself already does some sort of Vsync.
