No, the only two body styles will be the roadster and the ute(with no roof at all)

Ute? A truck version? Convertible Utes, like those early 30s Fords that are really hard to come by? Interesting...

    Question:

Could you, theoretically, put multiple rocks in the bed of the ute?

Even though I don't have much motivation, I cleaned up some small mesh things in the door and started on doing the interior.
    screenshot_2018-11-20_13-34-14.png
I also noticed that the ute version is having some problems but those will be adressed as soon as I finish the interior, have the chassis and suspension 100% ready and have time and motivation.

    Why the lack of motivation?
Well, it is because of you. I, and others, make mods in our spare time.
We mainly do this for ourself, we want something and create it. We also care about deformation, handling, overall quality and we also care about realism.
This means that we have to put effort in our mods. We have to learn stuff: how to model for instance. This was one of the first meshes for the roadster:
    upload_2018-11-21_11-13-17.png
And this is the body after some improvements:
    upload_2018-11-21_11-12-42.png

Still not perfect but already a lot better right?

Just learning how to model takes a lot of time already.

Then the research: How does something work? Why does it work like that? And then, how should I translate it to a Jbeam?
This takes time and quite some thinking. This part is not easy. Read my posts about the softtop mechanism or the front suspension for instance. I am lucky that there are some websites about the MG TD and that there is a great and supportive club in the Netherlands for this project that help me by providing pictures and drawings that give me the opportunity to make this happen. Really, thanks to the MG TTO club and https://www.mg-cars.org.uk/mgtd/index.html (Find the thread on their website :D)

And then texturing, the most dreadful task there is :D. Let's be honest, I really hate texturing stuff. I don't like the workflow, I don't like UV-mapping :D. I am working on it though but this takes time too. I do like the results when I finish texturing.

And even though I do this for myself, I cannot deny that positive attention works as a motivator as well. The article in the MG TTO magazine and the presentation worked wonders.
We also do this for free. If someone paid me a reasonable amount of money, I would make something within a deadline. No problem. But since modders almost never get paid, they dont have any obligation to you.

What does not help is the fact that I see nothing like this on the forums anymore. (Okay, a few exceptions). What I loved about this game is the fact that people made their own mods, unique stuff and were supportive.
This is not true anymore. Currently, there are a few modders active with nice projects and most people are just too busy with asking 'when is it ready?', 'can you make X?' and posting pictures of completely unrealistic mods with stolen meshes everywhere.

This makes me angry and sad. You guys steal stuff from other games where some developer spent hours on making a good mesh. And then, after you stole it, you insult the creator and the car maker by putting it on a completely unrealistic chassis. Have you guys even looked up what kind of suspension the Cayman has? Or the Senna?
    Probably not.

    And when I ask why?

    "Too hard, I can't Jbeam".
That is not true. You are just too lazy and spoiled to learn it.
    Effort.

And the rest is too greedy and stupid and accepts this kind of virtual insult.
Why? Because you want more cars and don't care about realism?
Go play Forza FFS. Get out.

This game is about simulating and realism, try to make realistic mods. Even though it might take more effort.

Because this negative attitude does not work, I will start a tutorial series on how to create something soon.
I hope it will help changing your point of view.
The tutorial will show how to make a prop with multiple features.

Couldn't agree more, take your time to work on the mod when you have motivation and energy, you have no obligation to finish it before a certain deadline.

I also agree how there is hardly any good mods anymore... It's sad people are taking these shortcuts :(

If it makes any difference to you I am beginning to learn how to mod by making an FSAE car (for @fufsgfen's competition) and once I learn some basic skills I will start to work on a completely self made mod, based off a Chrysler Valiant S Series (although don't expect anything soon as I am in year 12 next year and I wont have much free time).

My dad currently owns one and my grandfather used to too, I love these cars and I am part of a club who will tell me any information I don't already know, so I have the motivation :D

This is what they look like:
    1962-chrysler-valiant-s-series-sedan.jpg 1962-chrysler-valiant-s-series-sedan1.jpg

Sorry this is going way off topic, basically I'm saying there are still some people who are willing to put in the hard work and create a completely self made mod much like yourself. :)

I am actively trying to learn how to model/ texture. I still dont really, and that is the reason why i asked for your help on a project which i am still working on now)
for me, Jbeaming came rather easy, as i have alot of patience. Obviously, I am not to the point of making complete separate Jbeams, but i use what the game gives me as an asset, and build upon that. EG, editing the actually nodes and beams, changing strength values, and making the jbeam more accurate to the new object i am trying to implement)
    skinning is easy.
    nothing more said.
And I am very glad you are gonna make a tutorial, as i bet it can help me out of my pit and get me on my feet a bit better than i am now.
For reference, i started playing 14/15'
i started modding early this year, and i am already picking up jbeaming. I just choose not to be afraid of it, and get it done (wish i could say the same for algebra 2 :p)
For me, free time is gonna start disappearing, so i gotta make the time i have left count.

Also, thanks to all of the modders who have helped me out over the life of WBIMP. You know who you are. :)
    I really appreciate it.

Ooh, nice. I'll watch that for sure. I tried making a 1956 Buick in Blender, I got somewhat far in the roof and hood, but I kinda gave up. You're clearly a talented creator, and I'll certainly look to your videos for advice.

I'd also be excited to see your videos. I have a few cars in mind (1964 T-BIrd, 1936 Chrysler Sedan, MR2 SW20, and a 2000 Mercury Mystique) that I'd love to make realistic mods for since I have them in person to examine and work with. The issue is that I have zero experience modeling, jbeaming, or texturing and I'm unsure where to start learning.
