Anyone else wonder why modern vehicles have such large overhangs compared to older ones?

This song is shockingly relevant today. Newer/bigger cars are not always better, even though car manufacturers are trying to force them on us.

It's all subjective. Depends on what you want from a car.

    Yeah what about it?
One of my neighbors has a 2006/7 Mercury Mountaineer that's just been sitting in their driveway collecting leaves for the past year or two. It's a loaded V8 AWD model, with power retractable running boards and everything. Might fuck around and knock on their door offering to buy it. Those later model explorers/mountaineers got the 24v 4.6 with around 295hp. They also got the problematic 6R transmission, which is a pretty likely explanation as to why its been sitting.
Only gripe is that it's this ugly ass gold color, and it also has the same ugly wheels. The caged tail lights are cheesy too.

I think the pre-facelift models are less ugly, and I really like some of the two-tone paint jobs they offered. I also like the wheels on the one pictured below much more.

Growing up, my mom had a '98 Mountaineer. Had the 5.0 with full time AWD and was black on grey. Wonderful SUV, I distinctly remember it being extremely comfortable.

Didn’t watch it, but Mass winters would not approve.

Turns out you can get some fairly beefy Golf Cart Tyres. So if ploughed, snow would presumably be an non-issue*.

*For the cart at least, for the humans riding in it, ehhhh :p

Just wanna say, a half broken RWD Jeep ZJ is pretty entertaining to drive. And nearly as fast as @redrobin's V6 crowd killer. Tops out at about the same speed, too, 115 mph. And my ZJ doesn't have a death wobble.

The video makes mention of some of them being fitted with heaters. So slap a rain cover on and it should be fine providing people are dressed appropriately.

Fast and Furious is criminally unrealistic garbage for teenage ricers.
    Change my mind.

I agree with that statement, yet I still will watch them when they come out hoping that they have changed. If they haven't then at least it is a good source of comedy for laughing at their failures.

Its not supposed to be realistic, otherwise it would be five chavs in a Halfords car park duct taping fake plastic exhaust tips to their Saxos and Corsas.

Well, BMW didn't really "ruin everything", though there are some missteps BMW has currently.

I can agree that they needlessly waste so many classic cars. It's very rare when you actually see a newer car get destroyed.

Most muscle classics are plentiful and easily replicable anyway, so I don't care much about them.

Well, I got two cars now down that I have spotted. Those 2 are the new Forte and Ascent.
