Although I’m pretty sure during the era of the Autobello pannel beating was a pretty standard thing to do, rather than today where parts are replaced instead of repaired. To be honest there are not many cars I can think of with seperate rear fenders.

    Indeed.

That's why no manufacturer did it at the time, no one does it now, and repairmen fix core parts without removing them with body filler...

Nobody would replace a whole panel only to fix a dent in it, nevermind consider replacement cheaper than repair.

Looks like the fenders are attached on this model

@fufsgfen was that a beetle or a fiat?

There's quite a big chance you would be unable to afford one.
    Damn right you would.

Just like all the people back then did, i.e. they only wanted a decent car, and did not care about Hitler, Mussolini, Breznhev, Ford, or any of these folks.

It has mirrors both side while having door hinges old way.

None of BeamNG cars are based on single model either.

What does it have to do with the topic?

There's no guarantee that the mirrors are factory.

That image was to show the rear fender is part of the body, I was referring to the post above to fufsgfen, asking if what he posted was a beetle or a fiat... I should’ve made that clear, it’s late and I’m tired, sorry

(Edit: edited my posts for more clarity)

It's a Beetle. A design of the late '30s which had separate fenders, front and rear, much like the coeval Citroën 2CV. Solution that was being progressively abandoned after war. Piccolina on the other hand looks like a contemporary (for its time!) design, and it's reportedly of a much more advanced conception (Unibody) as well.

Anyway... No car that I know of has separate rear fenders and flush front fenders, to be honest...

Indeed they aren't. Passenger side mirror wasn't available at all on the 600, it's an aftermarket part and quite certainly added much later on.

Can't wait for interior pictures. I've seen some through screenshots from the outside but I can't wait for full ones.

Well, I still think it makes a perverse kind of sense for the Piccolina to maintain the old solution of separate rear fenders.

In a crash that inflicts minor damage to the rear fender, a separate panel can be removed and repaired on a workbench instead of having the mechanic remove the rear wheel and bend awkwardly into the wheel well to pound out the dent.

In a more severe crash, the separate rear panel can be sacrificed in order to protect the main unibody - while a single integrated structure requires extensive and expensive repair.

As an added bonus, separate rear fenders more easily permit cutting down, replacement, or outright removal to allow the fitting of larger rear tires:

You can clearly see the panel wrapping around inside the wheel wells though. So, the removable fender (if it's actually removable) is probably just an overfender after all. And, as mentioned, I believe they made it so you can simply install the wider/flared overfender for the sport variant (front ones look flared too):

I just find it an unusual, very quirky, and expensive, solution for an economy car, especially one from an era where simplicity and keeping the number of components to be assembled to a minimum were top priorities, in order to cut costs. That's all. :)

Its probably easier to model it with a seperate part and easier when it needs to be updated

Exactly. I believe this solution was simply adopted for game-related reasons, not really because it would be more practical or easier to repair in real life (because it wouldn't).

The only car with a similar solution I can think of is the Citroën DS - the whole, streamlined rear wing was separate and removable, but ultimately a very impractical necessity to allow rear tire changes.

At first I thought that the Piccolina was supposed to be a Subaru 360. But then realised it wasn't

Autobello Piccolina has several parts based on different vehicles, it is normal that it does not follow a historical line of only one of them.
It should be borne in mind that some design elements will be self-made and not based on a real vehicle.
All vehicles in the game are like this ...

Fairly often actually. They said multiple times it will be released in the second half of this month, and earlier today TDev said “a couple days before Christmas” in the update speculation thread. Which means the 21st since updates have been on Friday’s for ages now.
