Gotta admit that would be awesome, but remember that involves a lot of work. They are the best beater skins ever made for BeamNG in my opinion
I would like to have hydraulic suspensions as well, but i'm not the jbeam man for that. Definitly a good idea though. Thank you for your appreciation, i just finished the new Regency Beater Sedan and Coupe with color palette map to have a lot of combinations, including just one color. Skin map is the same for both, color palette map is different to take advantage of coupe large doors.
On topic of beaters, could something like this be done https://www.autoblog.com/2017/04/21...ry-montego-mx-brougham-sawzall/#slide-4966216
Well posting progress on my mod does not really imply that i'd like a bunch of suggestions. I actually just would like to achieve what i'm currently working on. Thank you Back on topic : Two tones paint now works with color palette too, so that any combination is possible.
Playing around with color palettes combined to non colorable logos and drawings. It took me some time to figure it out but i managed to have the proper shininess and bright white canvas for all thoses logos areas. So here is an existing skin converted to colorable palettes.
I hope so. It's not only new skins but the new Delta 88 coupe, and i now need do do the bucket seats interior. I can't promise, maybe it will be early january. I spend as much time as i can on it. Thank you
Wow that looks awesome! This is actually very similar to what I am currently doing. I am creating a vintage racing skin pack for the coronet with a majority of the skin being colourable and with a few stickers on the side for sponsors. It’s hard to tell by the pictures but did you manage to get the stickers to appear less relflective on the bodywork etc. so they look real? Stoat Muldoon told me it could be done by creating a third diffuse map and adjusting values rather than an overlay map. Is this what you have done? If possible would you be able to send me an example of a materials.cs file, or just a section of the code that I can deconstruct? If not that’s 100% fine and I completely understand because it is your work, not mine Keeping on topic, your skins really are looking absolutely amazing now, and I’ve gotta say I think these are now getting beyond dev quality (if they weren’t already), keep it up!
Hi, thanks for the detailled comment. Yep, i did it this way too, with the third diffuse map, using the blacked out areas of the color palette alpha channel as a non colored canvas. The two combined allows to have less reflective, more bright painted result. But for this to work, you need to use a light grey alpha channel on the third diffuse. If you use a white alpha channel, then your logos and stickers will be matte. Which can be also a nice effect too when desired. Here are some tests i did that illustrate this topic : Here are some photoshop screenshots: sticker diffuse 3 map and light grey alpha channel : then colorpalette map and alpha channel : I spent some hours yesterday and today to figure out how to make it properly. And indeed, doing this with just the overlaymap is not good enough, result is washed out, see early result : I experimented all of that also because i want to lock some skins, like police cars, that i don't want to be colorchangeable. So almost all the skin becomes a big sticker You can find a materials.cs attached, this is no secret, i'm happy it can help
Thank you very much for your detailed reply, I really appreciate it, this helps heaps I’ll have a look at your materials file when I start working on my skin later today, would you mind if I PM you if I have any trouble?
Sweet! Are you going to release that comic strip guy thingy on the skin when you release it? That actually looks kinda cool tbh.
It's a fragment of an illustration i did for an artbook about Roller Derby Girls, so it's not a guy but a girl he he. It was just a test to figure out skins with color palette and lockable areas. Here is the full image : Now that i have all the keys to make proper skin i'll do some more illustrated ones, but not for this release, i have plenty of freelance work and i will slow down on the mod now. You can PM no problem
Just an idea, maybe you could ask an author who has successfully made air suspension for permission to use it in this mod? Just an idea.
Maybe someone else could make an airbagged mod for the oldsfullsize... it’s not impossible. SergentFido is already doing more than enough work on this mod. Just as long as you have permission from SergentFido and Blijo (if you use his suspension)
It's great to see this mod still getting work done every once and awhile, sad when so many nice mods end up being buried because of a lack of implementation of new game features or compatibility updates. The Honda Prelude (great but sort of overkill on the details) and the Honda CRX del Sol mod for example suffered from this. Oh yeah by the way Greenlight Collectables might be doing a 80s Caprice in their 1:64 lineup.
Great news i will get it when released and thanks for the kind comment. I keep updating it because i like it, but everybody has a life and updating is not as fun than creating. I create new content to keep the motivation.
Sleeping beauties I will add the full dusty windshield, does not make sense this cleaned one for abandoned cars like those
