What's going on with this?

    I got this after my computer did something weird with windows, so I uninstalled the game (completely from my computer, no file left of it) and redownloaded it, but even trying to load up the grid map it instantly crashes and gives me this, prior to this nothing was wrong other then me having to play on the lowest settings so my computer didn't explode.

    This happens when something is blocking the game from writing the cache files in Documents/BeamNG.drive.

    Please check your Antivirus, similar software and this list carefully: https://wiki.beamng.com/Incompatible_Third_Party_Software
    Stuff like Bitfender and Acronis are known to cause this. If you think Windows did something, check Windows Defender's folder settings (listed in the link above)

    I've gone through all that and it hasn't seemed to fix it sadly, I went through my windows defender and got no luck there, anything else that could go on? or was it just the windows update that completely broke the game?

    My windows is constantly up to date, and never had problems after an update really.
    I'm more of the idea you still have some program messing with the game on your side, as that very commonly results in that errors above.
    Try Windows Safe mode perhaps?

    it was playing fine before the update happened, well as fine as my 7 year old pc can play it, but it can't load up a map without crashing the game now, I've downloaded nothing new recently, no new games, mods, or even a PDF file

    Did you also clear documents\beamng.drive\ folder? Especially all folders that say cache in there?
