Knocked on their door and asked about it today. 175k miles, allegedly starts and runs and will move under its own power, but the trans is slipping. No deal yet, I'm gonna go back and start it up and inspect it more thoroughly. More miles than I was hoping and expecting, and I don't know if I'm feeling like putting a trans in the thing. I'll have to decide. Maybe the trans won't have to come out. I was wrong about the name of the transmission. It isn't a 6R, its a 5R55S.
So, my aunt got herself a car - a 2015 Fiat 500. A greenish 1.4 automatic hatchback, to be exact. It's a 1957 special edition model, and has alloys made to look like old hubcapped steelies. Went for a ride in it with my uncle, and was surprised by the legroom (though that's thanks to the high seating position) and how lively it was on the road in sport mode.
No matter what your opinions are about anything, there's never a good excuse to be an asshole to random strangers. Rolling coal is already a massive dick move though so I'm not surprised in the slightest that this is what those sorts of people are turning to. https://qz.com/1506901/trucks-are-ice-ing-tesla-owners-from-charging-stations/amp/
The funny thing is those are the same guys that incessantly bitch about gas powered cars parking in front of the diesel pumps, a fair thing to complain about if you don't do the same thing to others. I'll be honest I've smoked people out before, but I only do it to my friends or occasionally some dick that's been roaling coal on me and/or others. And my pickup runs well enough that it's only a little puff of black not a cloud so thick you can't see through it.
After 7 months of my car not running, I can finally say that it runs! Had to replace the radiator, so we got an aluminum radiator with electric fans. Next plan is to swap in a manual transmission and redo the suspension with upgraded parts.
Sometimes, but nobody parks in front of the separate ones (that I've seen). Usually there are a bunch of gas pumps and one or two combined pumps and a gas car parks in front of the one diesel pump even if all the others are open. Never really happened to me and I don't think anybody does it on purpose, but I wouldn't blame them if diesel bros are parking in front of chargers.
Over here, every pump is combined so you can't have that issue. Instead you get a queue of people for filler caps on one side of the car forgetting that the hoses are designed to reach around the car....
I kinda can't blame them, I don't like draping the hose across the paint, but most gas stations here are designed so you can pull in from either side so you don't have that issue.
This topic has always interested me, and this is the first really comprehensive video I've come across. So yeah, in case anyone else is interested too:
Had it cleaned and the sun was at the perfect angle when I parked, so of course I had to take a photo.
Drove an '18 ecoboost Mustang at work. It makes pretty good power once the turbos spool up, but before that it really doesn't have much power. Can't hide that its a 4 cylinder. I've yet to drive a v6 or 5.0. I've driven a couple of v6 and SS Camaros though. The SS is a lot of fun.
Yeah they really need a chip tune. Wastegate spring is set for a low pressure with boost control solenoids to keep it shut for higher pressures. Stock ECU tune though, let's that wastegate open up at low revs and actively prevents spool until 3000, mostly as American gas is more prone to knock on that motor under such conditions. Flash a new tune and keep it running on premium gas, problem gone
I guess one of the benefits of living in the hills of east Tennessee is the abundance of jumps. I'm always keeping an eye out for them. There's just about nothing I love to do with cars more than jumping them.
