I'm not sure about auto setting being reliable, for example my motherboard is giving 1.24 Volts to CPU that is running at stock speed (non K so it is between 3.7 to 4.0Ghz which it should be able to do with 1.15V easily). VRM on this motherboard is better than average, but it is giving lot of Volts though. At least no issues with VDroop...

6700K and 6600K should have similar voltage stuff I think, 4.4Ghz should come with ease and at quite low Voltages, I like this easy to read graph:
    https://overclocking.guide/skylake-overclocking-power-consumption-and-voltage-scaling/

Also don't believe anything that claims you would need to do hours of burn in test or something to test CPU, that is just a myth and at worst cases actually takes life out from chip. Blender Benchmark is enough good stress test for most cases, if temps stay low and computer can run Blender benchmark while doing Banana bench, it will be good enough test.

If in practical use you experience freezes or crashes, then bump up voltage a little or lower clocks a little.

Also temperature monitors can be awfully inaccurate, even up to 10C, so getting close to 80C can be over 90C in practice, staying far is better. Sadly even best cooling might not help because stuff between CPU die and CPU heat spreader is so useless.

I like Skylake mostly because how cool it runs and how little power it uses, my i7 tower with gtx1080 uses 47Watts of power when I'm listening music or reading web page, it does pretty much anything I need to do, runs pretty much any game flawlessly despite using so little power, that is quite amazing. Faster CPU does help with some thing in BeamNG, but TBH twice the multicore computing power and about 30% better single core computing did improve things surprisingly little.

    0.15 update did much more.

Running more cars simultaneously faster CPU is nice though, but I was surprised how little improvement there is left over this non K Skylake CPU, so don't get greedy with overclocking, there is some gains, but not huge.

I agree, I am just looking to take advantage of the K SKU, so when I find a stable, low voltage overclock profile, ill stick to that, simply to gain a bit of performance without having my CPU burning at full tilt all the time. A comfortable overclock with improved performance and not much more power consumption. I also am overclocking my MSI ARMOR 1060 6gb, so between that,. the CPU and improving my RAM speeds, im interested to see how much better this upgraded PC will run, for essentially 60 dollars.

All told, between selling my i3-6100, EVGA 1050Ti 4gb, Antec 750W power supply replacing it all with the i5-6600K, 1060 6gb, and 850w Corsair WHITE PSU and (eventually) selling my MSI Mortar Arctic B150M board and replacing it with the Z170M, I will have spent about 120 dollars on all the upgrades lol not bad (i stalk ebay and amazon and craigslist all day at work haha)

thanks flashforge for blessing me with the ability to make my own parts. not sure how much this will cost me, but it’s less than $5 and it replicates a $100 part (without shipping) and i get to wake up and peel the supports off like it’s christmas morning again! :)

    unfortunately, no. :(
thinking about trying a miata-based sim rig though, with shifter parts, wheel, pedals, dash, etc. :p

went on Steam just now (bored at work like usual lol) and picked up Fallout4 for PC, (already have it for XBOX), GTA III, Vice City and San Andrea combo pack, Morrowind and Oblivion for like 50 bucks total.

Last nite, I received the matching white Corsair modular power supply for my PC, got that all plugged in and up and running (RM850X). Waiting on the new MoBo. Funny enough, a few weeks ago I bought a Zotac 1060 AMP! Edition off ebay, and when I got it, it didnt work. So I fought EBAY and the seller and eventually got my money back, and sent the defective card back to the seller's address. What do I see in my mailbox last nite along with the PSU? That same freaking card! Said "Return To Sender" so I guess the dickhead that sold it to me in the first place knew it was broken. Oh well, I already got the refund and now I have the item. Might take it apart and see if I can clean the PCB up with some electronics cleaner, as there seems to be a residue all over the PCB. I also got, in a 3rd box, that Chinese "GTX 1060 5gb". I actually filmed an unboxing (but I was drunk so no commentary lol) and it seems like is a cheap ass card, the heat sink is extruded aluminum instead of the fin-style, much smaller than my MSI 1060 OC Armor. There ARE 5x 1gb chips on the PCB, so thats a small glimmer of hope but tonite im gonna tear it apart and see what the actual processor says on it. Its most likely a re-flashed 960 or something like that so maybe Ill do a "Superposition" benchmark with that and my current card and compare the 2. My MSI card has an 8 pin power plug, whereas this chinese one has a 6 pin plug....so im interested to find out what it actually is, to say the least. So NOW I have 3 GPU's, and only 1 is worth ANYTHING. I am going to sell the MSI card on EBAY for hopefully 160 - 220. I want a 1080 11gb, thats what I am working towards. (I dont believe in buying an inflated brand new GPU for 800 dollars lol)

Been working on my absolutely horrendous 55 gal fish tank now, I am going to setup a co2 system to kill off the brush algae in my tank and get my plants growing again.
I also now have a breeding pair of angelfish in my tank, unintentionally, that threaten to kill everything in the tank, how fun?
I now plan on setting up a 10 gal tank on the side for them so that they can start hatching their eggs and creating a nice source of free angelfish.

OMG New profile picture because I have nothing better to do today..... I know

Got new speakers for my bedroom setup recently, SABA 70K from the early 70s and since I can't take a photo of them properly here's one that I found on google images http://bilder.hifi-forum.de/medium/525033/fronteinzelndstehend_176952.jpg

They were even built locally more or less, of course, the brand doesn't exist anymore even though they made a rather large number of Hi-Fi equipment and appliances back in the day

Tried running Beam on my old laptop. Intel Celeron, integrated graphics, 4 GB of RAM, what could go wrong? Surprisingly, it ran worse than the techdemo, and is pretty much unplayable, even for me, getting about 4 FPS. Glad I have a new laptop that can actually run it very nicely, huge change from what I'm used to.

    Enjoy this very nice screenshot.

Thanks to the government shutdown, I can't download some software I need from NIST - their website is down until further notice. Thanks, Trump.

I finished printing the clodbuster wheels for my 3d printed ursa monster truck, I got an easy peelzy bed for my CR10s a few days ago and it makes a huge difference in ease of use compared to tape+ glue stick, once I finish the enclosure I can print other stuff besides PLA but that also requires me setting up the tape again.

Yi action camera drowned, the water proof case which admittedly wasn't waterproof for a while, ( it was leaking slightly, like in maybe 3 hours of submersion it would have a little bit of water in the bottom of the case, but a 5 minute splash filled it up with water. Camera dead, and i'm trying to recover those 5 minutes of footage :p

I washed the camera, yes washed, and instead of a mere flicker on the power button, i now get life!! turns on like it's about to do its startup sequence, then just gets into an infinite loop of beeps :( think i might have destroyed a chip on it or something.

Happy new year, I spent the last 3 days at the ranch near the border of Mexico. It was isolated, no cell service whatsoever (or internet for that matter) but it was super nice and really peaceful, me and my husband cooked 70lbs of Lasagna and some other hors d'oeuvres for about 12 of us total. Did some hunting, some cruising around the over 4K acres of land.

When I had a chance, I took a trip to the closest food place (McDonalds) about 40 minutes away, and did some amazon and ebay stalking. Found an almost brand new Gigabyte 1070 8gb Windforce card for 200 bucks so I bought that, and my new MoBo is coming in the mail today. Slowly but surely Im working my way up to a 32gb Z chipset 1080 ti 11gb system, might even just keep the 6600K but would be nice with the new MoBo to have the i7-7600k...that would essentially be a completely maxed out system, not considering the ridiculous 2080's and Titan cards that are SO much more money. Trying to sell the MoBo I have currently along with the 1060 6gb Armor OC card I have, maybe as a bundle or separate. Thinking 180 for the card and 100 for the MoBo. If anyone might be interested in anything I sell, id be happy to offer a lower price to a forum user. Also selling my old power supply (its essentially brand new, not a speck of dust on it etc).

Now im back to work, and actually not really in a bad mood at all. Feeling good (a little stoned) but everyone is having a great day where I am :) although its really shitty out and super rainy and horrible. I saw a huge pileup or something going on near my house, probably due to the rain. Also, since I just got to work, and I was off Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, we took in a few off-brand cars, one of them being a 2010 Ferrari California, its got 17k miles on it. Needs a bunch of stuff of course lol Ill be speaking with Ferrari soon about that. Things like trunk shocks, oil filter/change, wipers, various bits of trim and mouldings, etc.

It was 2x lasagna, with ground pork, ground veal, ground beef, and mild italian sausage. We like to cook all the meats separate, drain them (less grease) and combine the meats with a bit of mozzarella so it has some integrity among the other layers. Also, we use ricotta cheese with finely chopped basil, a bit of salt and pepper, and asiago cheese with 2 eggs so it stays together as well. The sauce was made with San Marzano tomatoes, basil, rep pepper flakes, salt, pepper, a LOT of garlic and sauteed onions. We bought pre-cooked flat lasagna noodles that were honestly some of the best we ever used (we blanch them of course to bring them to life). Cooked it low and slow, at about 300 degrees F for a few hours, checking temps every 30 minutes. It came out freaking awesome. Also made sausage meatballs (spicy italian sausage, some cheddar cheese, bisquick, milk, salt and pepper, kneaded together, formed into small bite size balls and baked at 350 for about 15 minutes). We made 7 layer bean dip, some vinegar/bacon/spicy cabbage stew-type thing, and black eyed peas (we are in the south after all) The guests were enamored by the food, us being native new yorkers (and not a speck of italian in our blood) they couldnt believe how good all the food came out. We took the ferrari out to the ranch, which was a bad idea because the road going to it is very rocky and bumpy. No big deal, no damage to the rims or anything lol

Was it 2 36lb lasagnas or 2 72 pound lasagnas?
Also, enjoy the California. It was my favorite ferrari a few years ago.
