Since the Italy update I get an uplayable stutter while on any map with any vehicle. It stutters every 1-2 seconds down 10-fps before jumping back up. It's impossible to play with this stutter.

Before this update I always had a steady 90-110fps with no stutter.

I have tried changing various graphics settings to no avail, clearing cache, safe mode, verifying integrity and reinstalling the game.

    My system specs are:
    Ryzen 1500x
    16gb ddr4
    rx 580

Here is a screenshot of the performance graph:

Any help is much appreciated, thank you!

Set vsync on and have monitor at 60Hz, that will be smoothest with this game as long as you never drop under 60fps.

With some other game vsync is not so good, with this nothing else really makes so smooth gameplay.

I have tried using vsync, freesync (I have a 580), and locking the fps in game and with an external program and none fixed the stutter.

I had a 580 as well and with beamng I got a lot of problems, the cause was the AMD drivers. The devs mention that on the forums.
Now I got an nvidia gtx1080 and I have no problems. Sorry I can't help you more.

In this post is mentioning about clockblocker and how AMD driver's cause clocks to change, maybe it gets more pronounced with this new BeamNG version, there is something odd with graphics options lower graphics not ending up being quite as what is set, so that can of course play part too.

SSAO seem also to make some odd things happening to smoothness, sometimes, best to keep it off for now I think.
