My city used to be the #1 American city for textile factories during the early 20th century. It's also home to the infamous axe-murderer Lizzie Borden.

    Puławy, Poland.

In the 18th century, the Czartoryski family, one of the most,,if not the most, influential noble families in Poland decided to settle there, and built two palaces, one of which I have right opposite the house. They held artistic and political meetings there (including the negotiations to elect the king they wanted, Stanisław August Poniatowski, and hosting very important 18th and 19th century scientists and artists), and founded Poland's first museum, making Puławy a rich guys' playground.

After WWII, in the 1960s, when the traditional upper-class went virtually extinct, the socialist government decided to build a huge nitrogen works in Puławy, pretty much making it a factory working-class town and erecting tons of tower blocks to house the workers. Now, that factory is the EU's 2nd biggest nitrogen fertilizer factory, and 3/4s of my family members living in Puławy work or have worked there.

We're also one of the main PiS strongholds, an important place in the calendar industry, and there's a Mars crater named after the town.

    Kragujevac:
    1. Was the 1st capital of modern Serbia 1818-1841.
    2. Only car factory in country is right here. Origins of factory dates back to 1939, when 300 Chevrolet 4400 trucks was assembled for needs of army. After the WWII, production was restored when 160 examples of Willys Jeep was made. In 1953, car factory was established, which was called Zavodi Crvena Zastava (Red Flag Plant). First car that was produced is Fiat 1400BJ. Rest is the history. How influential it was, tells the fact that Kragujevac had under 40K inhabitants before WWII, and few decades later it had over 100K people. Now Kragujevac has over 200K people including suburbs. 1 half of Kragujevac population work or worked for the automotive industry. Because it's car factory, Kragujevac has nickname 'Serbian Detriot.' Cars which was produced here (Yugo, Stojadin, Fića, Florida) are the symbols of this city.
    3. First factory in the country was established here in 1853, so it's first industrial city in Serbia. It was arms foundry, which still exists today as arms factory.
    4. One of the largest crimes of Nazists was conducted here in 1941, when 7000 people were killed, including students and professors from Kragujevac Grammar School.

My city also holds one of the most contributing American WWII ships (the USS Massachusetts) in Battleship Cove, and has kept it as a museum ship since 1965.

Bristol, UK. The most congested city in the UK in 2012, I mean it’s special, right?

Never said it was the only one, it's really the only thing people talk about when Toronto is talked about.

Not much special about Fernandina Beach besides it being a tourist town, having a historic downtown, and having better than your average US urban planning . Before Hurricane Matthew, we had one of the longest fishing piers on the East Coast.
