Detecting Proxy Settings...

So....

I've downloaded the game just fine, when I'm going through the install it gets all the way to the "Detecting proxy settings" bit and just freezes about a quarter of the way through. I'm not using a proxy and I'm unsure of whether I'm being stupid and missing something obvious?!?

Any help (if it's possible) would be appreciated.

What processor do you have, what graphics card, how much RAM,
what version of Windows are you using and is it 32bit or 64bit.?

 

The updater can hang for a bit on that part. Thought I screwed up the thermal paste on my friend's new system (air bubbles) so I downloaded the game as a fun way to demonstrate what good graphics look like (he had a pretty bad laptop for gaming) while at the same time stressing the CPU to make sure it wasn't overheating. The updater hung at this point for almost a full minute before moving on.

 

This exact same thing is happening to me now. But I've waited for ages and it's still there, detecting proxy settings.

Some time passed and an error stating
"FATAL ERROR"
"unable to download file: version.txt
Timeout was reached"

 

I've done a few things, that being one of them, and it is working nicely now Thanks
