Ford has a logo with a word in a oval, so it's not exclusive to just the Japanese.

FYI putting a letter in a circle/box, and making it as an logo isn't invented by the Japanese lol.

If you look closely, you can spell Toyota with all the shapes that can be made with the Toyota logo.
