I'm not sure where to post this, but basically I've been developing a map for coming up on a month now, and plan on running a youtube "series" so to speak. I've posted a few videos here and there and the average view rate is about 20! SUPER exciting haha. I don't want to post videos in the wrong forums here, or wrong threads, but I certainly would love to get more people seeing them and possibly even sharing them. I've always ALWAYS hated the whole, "LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, SHARE" crap on people's videos, always seems so desperate. I'm not doing this to make money, I'm doing this because I love it and want to share it with people so I'm looking for a way to maximize that without breaking any rules here, all while raising awareness that it's happening. So, what are the preferred practices here? Obviously there's the one forum, "pictures, videos" etc.. but if I'm making this level and want to keep everything relatively together, obviously I don't want to post technical questions in a picture thread, and vice versa. So basically, how frowned upon is it to mix and match here? Hope this comes across correctly! *Cheers guys
Hey now that's a great idea! I've honestly - having been on the internet since day 1 - only ever gone to reddit maybe twice in my life. =D
Yep, BeamNG reddit is a great way to get publicity, I’ll also be happy to share your vids on some BeamNG discord servers too. You may also be able to occasionally post some videos on more popular threads such as community screenshots (if you also add screenshots) and development screens (if it is related to development).
Honestly Crimson, if it wasn't for you I'd be wondering if ANYONE was watching the videos so far! I've never cared to put videos up, yet I've had my channel for over 10 years and always just tossed videos up to show people on forums various things. Somehow I racked up 400 or so followers through the years, and now that I'm "trying" it seems . . well there's more to it than I thought! =D Thanks for the suggestion, and sure if you'd like to share anything then by all means please go ahead! I really gotta just figure this reddit thing out - WHY does it look like an excel sheet from 40 years ago, what am I missing!? --- Post updated --- Whoa. . nevermind, it looks like facebook now. Sheesh, 2019 how YOU doin!
Yea, I love watching your videos and seeing how your map is developing. In every video it seems you are trying out some new feature that I have never seen used before, it’s really interesting I can’t wait for the Castle Run videos to be uploaded! The only thing I would do different to you change your YouTube profile picture to be a little more eye catching, and set your channel up to be more of a gaming channel rather than a personal channel, it’s hard to explain but I hope you get the idea.
I certainly understand what you're saying! I haven't even begun to look at that side of it all yet, I still have default youtube banner up! =D Thanks for the suggestion though, much appreciated! JUST MADE my first reddit post, I added a picture, a url, and a message. Only uploaded the message because I r dum. Hah learnin' and learnin' over here.
