It would I'm planning on getting one soon I need to learn how to make a good resume and probably get some community service in once that happens there is a lot of stuff I want to buy
I relate to this a lot. I was under 18 with projects and no job. Buying and selling Crown Vics was pretty much my job in high school. A job is nice but it takes a lot of time away from the projects. I've wanted a Regal GS for a while. I've yet to come across one worth buying though. I'd make it do mile long front wheel burnouts.
Ive thought about flipping stuff but not sure what to buy, I may give it a shot once I have some disposable cash in case it doesn't work out
Small though so clearly going to be a light duty machine. Front wheel drive utility vehicles have existed just fine over here
I never said it was a bad thing. We have the Ram ProMaster here (which is some silly Fiat thing) that's FWD and they do just fine as delivery vehicles. We also had Motorhomes in the 70's that were FWD.
I respect the 90s american car cult, but classic german is for the real intellectuals. JBatic, I honestly would say that money can be made off of e28s and classic mercs. They can be found in mediocre shape easily and are entertaining enough to drive. In terms of fun per dollar and the return you can get, classic german is good. Get a rougher example in a good spec, and you can lightly modify it into something fun. I’ve had people offer me decent money for my 528i just because of the rare spec: Black on red 5 speed. American cars can be good, but they seem played out. I think maybe getting something old and euro could be good. E30 bmws could be a good starting point. PS. Parts are expensive and difficult to find, especially cosmetic ones. Be very careful.
And this is why classic German ISN'T for the intellectual. Going bust over an old BMW isn't a financially wise decision. And an old German car will NEVER be as cool as an old Japanese, American, or British car... Unless it's a Trabant or one of the silly little micro cars. I love an M635i as much as the next guy, but a Jag 420G or a Rover SD-1 just ooze British coolness in my opinion.
Fine, we’ll take the example of the 420. It’ll NEVER work, and will ALWAYS need major repairs. That’s just a fact of life for British car owners. I would take a 420g, but, like, I want my car to work. Plus, parts are extraordinarily expensive and exceedingly rare. Also, rust! British cars LOVE to rust. For the sake of argument, you’re going to argue that these aren’t cool? Checkmate. Going bust over a car isn’t a good idea EVER, so I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that. Also, it’s COMPLETELY possible to own a classic german car on a budget. Parts can be scrounged, dollars can be shaved..... OEM parts aren’t the only solution. Plus, the communities for old german cars are great. Forums are all over the web, meets abound, and the people help each other out. I’ve gotten parts off of other owners. Then again, the same could be said about pretty much every car fanbase. Japanese classics are cool, but the “EHRMAGHRD IT’S A SKYYYYLLLLIIIINNNNENE!” kiddos have ruined the prices for us all. So really, I can’t say that you can even run an old Japanese car on a limited budget, save for a 240sx (but not for long) or an NA MX-5. Amercan classics are rediculously played out. Everybody has built them by now. They can be done well, but they seem a bit..... unoriginal. I personally don’t love them. Anyways, @JBatic, just work on what you love. Buy things for a good price, and flip what can be negotiated down to a reasonable level and can be fixed a bit to be more valuable. Sell for a good price, and you should make money. Just follow the rules of economics and you can come out okay. However, TBH, you’re better off getting a job and just buying and selling as a pasttime, so that if you get screwed over by a bad car you’re not screwing over your life. Also, getting a job is better paying and stable, so, honestly, just keep cars a hobby and a way to get a bit of spare change for doing what you love. Also, @redrobin stop lying to yourself and embrace the German car.
Yup, I'm going to argue that those aren't cool, save for the Audi. The Audi is the embodiment of Group-B AWD rally and that will ALWAYS be cool. I'm also not lying to myself, the Germans make cars, the rest of the world makes cars. Cool cars, interesting cars, cars I want to own. Sure, going bust is never a good idea, but if I were to do it, I'd rather it be a menacing Jag over a Mercedes. Why? Because it means I get to live in an old Jag and that's a hilarious story while I'm secretly sliding the restaurant's pint glass into my pocket. "I live in a 1966 Jaguar" Oh boy, how'd that happen?! "I live in a 1966 BMW" Should've been more careful with your money! I want my car to work, too, but I want it to have constant problems. I want it to be humanoid, have a soul. I want it to break dow- erm, "have a smoke and enjoy the view" on my way to work all because it needs a thermostat. I love that, that's what old cars are about. If it works, it's boring.
I mean, yes, but it's based on the Pilot which is based on the Accord. Taking a FWD platform and converting it to RWD costs a fair bit of cash. But again, there's nothing wrong with a FWD utility vehicle.
Then there's also this, RAM 700, which is just a Fiat Strada, which I've been seeing a couple, one with Michigan "Manufacturer" plates, and one with Mexican plates. Rumors keep floating around about this getting brought over into the US, but nothing's happened so far.
https://www.carstory.com/detail/2001-acura-integra-martinez_ca-JH4DC44691S002154 This seems like a good cheap Integra (unfortunately it's nowhere near where I live).
On my way home from the grocery store. I was at an intersection when I saw a Jeep Cherokee and the guy driving it turns into the wooded area of a metro park and he hit a tree.
It’s a GS Auto for 5 grand. You can get decent GS-Rs for that money. Use Craigslist and Searchtempest for the best deals on older/less popular cars.
The closest Integras from the websites I visited so far are in Connecticut... Yeah, I might as well use those 2 websites you listed instead.
Craigslist is sweet. I got my BMW off of it. It’s just a classified listing site. Searchtempest allows you to blanket search every craigslist region accross the US. You can’t use safari for it, however.
