beamng.drive.x86.exe not found

I bought the game yesterday and installed it but everytime i click the launcher it says "Executable not found: beamng.drive.x86.exe". I downloaded it again many times, ran the installer as administrator and deactivated my anti virus programm. But it's still missing. When i run the updater, it says it can not read update.exe. Could you please help me?

 

I have exactly the same problem. I also contacted support, but have no feedback yet.

anyone here in the forum with an idea what to try?

I found a solution. In my case I had to disable the smart firewall from my Norton Internet Security. After I disabled the firewall, the update worked. Everything is now working.

Is it not possible to buy the game, download it, install it and post
in this forum without linking their order to their forum account?

You shouldn't treat people like thieves based purely on speculation...

I contacted Support, but if you would have taken the time to read the reply to my own post, you would maybe have seen, that I have figured out the issue.

I'm not claiming he pirated the game, I just pointed out that he asked support for help when he hasn't bought the game. As you can see he hasn't got the BeamNG.Drive badge yet, which could mean 2 things:

1. He bought the game but wants to hide it and get limited access to the forums

2.He hasn't bought the game

And I doubt it's the first one, so yeah, he hasn't bought the game.

I was only saying you asked support without buying the game, it's irrelevant to my point if you did or didn't solve it.

Go into the beamng file, scroll down & rename the update file to update.exe

Next person says "I have the exactly the same problem".

How you conclude they haven't bought the game from
that info is beyond me.

You can buy the game, install the game, and play the game
without linking your purchase to these forums...

Maybe they just want to play the damn game and couldn't
care less about the forums?

 

Ehh no. If you buy the game, why would you not want to have full access to the forums, to all the mods, better support, etc etc. And it just takes 1 click. No badge --> No game.

And most importantly, he is asking for support here in the forums, so more of a reason to activate his account, but wait, he hasn't bought the game.

It's possible to buy and play the game without linking your purchase to the forums...
First thing I want to do when I buy a game is play it first and ask questions later.

I've seen many people post here with support issues that haven't linked their account yet.
