That'd be quite a common achievement - there's about 75 cars per 100 households, so the average person has to do without one.
Oh yeah. Still,it's not a 0.75:1 chance, because households with many cars drive (no pun intended) the average up.
I'd say purchasing a new car in one payment without credit would be pretty unconventional. I actually did that too... saved up $22,000 and bought a car with it.
