So, I do have 1 go kart mod that isn't even public, and I'd love to see more of these tiny little machines. I live near a race track where they race go karts, and so I decided to start working on a mini cup car. I decided to use a chassis I found on grabcad made by Ben Casto who did an amazing job on the chassis in my opinion. Also for those that don't know what they are, they're basically mini nascars that do about 60 mph. Heres the mesh in blender
Made lots of progress so far! The chassis and a few props are not in beamng! I do however need to redo the jbeam as I did add steering to it, and it doesn't work well. I also need to add some textures to the chassis and interior for a more realistic look. But ye!
I'm not using anyone's jbeam. I made my own. However when I added steering, it handled poorly. I knew what I had done wrong, but I didn't feel like fixing the problem, so I began working on a better realistic jbeam for it.
Yet again another update! Reworked the jbeam and the steering works well on it. I'm yet to add the engine, fuel cell, and wheels. I'm also currently having trouble with textures since they aren't showing up. If you know how to fix this problem, PM me. Once the problem is out of the way, I will add the stuff above.
It looks like you have hose from fuel tank to crankcase, also some hose/pipe comes out from crankcase and you have air filter that filters air to or from crankcase. You need to put carb and exhaust to side of cylinder, then connect fuel line to carb.
NOT DEAD YET! I've been looking at more reference pics and videos which include details, wiring layout, and interior design. I'm currently redoing the wires/cables since I realized most of them were hooked up to the wrong spot thanks to fufsgfen for pointing this out. Other than that, making progress! Also made a cool render pic.
Did some more work on the mini cup car today! Completely remade remade the interior, and moved some of the props around. Did some minor work to the jbeam to help the frame bend a bit better in some areas. Also, if anyone is willing to help me solve the textures mapping wrong, then dm me on discord at flexibodies_101#7313.
Got some updates on the mini cup. Didn't do much to it other than tweak the jbeam for better deformation. The model is basically done except for the body. Still can't get this texture bug solved either. Let me explain the texture problem a bit better. So lets say I want to make the interior this. (note this is just an example) After it is mapped into beamng, here's how it comes out. as you can see, it applied to the interior. But it only took the color of the texture, which is dark red instead of the details which are the rock surface details and such. This is the problem I've been facing with every other object I've tried to texture. The only thing that is properly textured is the fire extinguisher for some reason. Other than that, still working on it.
