I have Logitech MX518, which I bought 2005, so that is close to 14 years old now.

Removed scroll wheel part that makes a racket, so it is all smooth and quiet now, replaced also pads from the bottom once. Left button started to be bit odd after it fell from desk once, but despite click is bit odd, it works fine.

Mine is a Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum that I got maybe a year ago. It replaced a G502 Proteus Core that I had for a few years. The sensor on this mouse is amazingly precise, and the mouse is a good value which is why I like it.

Quite recently i replaced my mouse, Dell mouse from 2005 also..
i went for a wireless mouse once, and that was ok apart from constantly changing batteries!! It had side buttons, and i missed that feature when i went back to wired mouse... so the Dell is kind of there just as a backup, i now have this.. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01IT7AQJU/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
which is actually really good, damn good value for money i say..

also the dell markings have worn away by the use of the mouse, so it's kinda unbranded, but if you shine a light onto it you can still see the faint Dell markings :p

I had a G500, but the sensor was becoming unreliable. So I now have a 502 proteus core. Since then the G500 started working again, so I now use it as a portable mouse.

I really hate how awful the 502 is to keep clean. The G500 more or less stayed clean on its own, but because logitech switched to the new (frankly dumb for a mouse) angular design language. What was once a seamless design, is now filled with a million crevices that get fill with all sorts of crap. I also preffered the grippy rubber rimmed scroll wheel, since they switched to a stiffer click mechanism, so it's now much harder to scroll in indexed mode because it's smooth Shiney metal. The dpi shift buttons are also really easy to accidentally hit when moving between the mouse and the keyboard. On top of all that, due to the new primary mouse buttons overhanging the end of the mouse, if you do hit your keyboard it goes underneath the buttons making them impposibble to press down, which can be a little frustrating.

Otherwise there are a bunch of improvements, including a much improved thumb rest, a slightly better overall palm rest shape, and a braided cable that doesn't actively try to destroy itself by damaging the inner rubber cable just by existing.

So I would rate both mice about equally. And yet despite all the above, if they do fail, I will be straight in line for another one, because I can't live without the smooth scrolling.
That said, I wouldn't be happy if I had paid full price for such compromised profucts, thankfully they are sold at a far more reasonable 50% off occasionally, such as black Fridays. Since the normal price of logitech gaming mice these days really is a bit extortionate. Especially when no one else seems to be offering smooth scrolling, meaning they have no competition as far as I am concerned :p

Hmm, I think that I opened my mouse quite close to day one and removed racketing mechanism from it, I keep smooth scrolling off in browsers and have this smooth scrolling wheel instead, never have understood need of steps in a scroll wheel.

For me new mouse options are quite limited, I prefer smooth shape and it has to be large as I struggle finding size 13 gloves which would be still bit of tight fit, tiny mouse is sure recipe to carpal tunnel syndrome, even MX518 I find bit small and butt is not quite enough fat.

A 1-year old Targus wireless mouse and a Logitech G103 (rebranded G102), which I owned for a month or so.
The G103 isn't some fancy gaming mouse, it's not too expensive but it's surprisingly soild. Wish it was a bit larger.
