Also please fix the issue where the brush clips back to the center of the map and either creates a huge spike or massive hole

    This. So much this.
@nekitu this has been a long standing bug with the World Editor, if you're able to fix this you'll be hero to many of us map editors.

It'd probably help to say exactly what the problem is too. lol
Basically @nekitu , especially when working near the edge of the terrain map, the brush will often instantly teleport to the origin and then back to the player's mouse. Essentially what this causes is giant towers/pits/flat spots at the origin from where the push up/down/flatten brush bugged out from working on the map's edge.

If you could also do some magic with terrain painting on extreme slopes you'd be MVP too. ;)

I would love a setting in terrain to where the area that you align to mesh cannot be changed by a brush while doing the terrain. Would make smooth roads and transitions much easier imo.

Imo, the best way you could pull this off is having a dedicated tool for aligning terrain to mesh roads.
A lot of us use Meshroads for making smooth roads anyway, but often the issue runs into the brush aligning to all meshes and not just the mesh road.

There are always fixes done to the current editor, but we're also focusing on the new one that will improve the way we edit/create the maps and the speed at which we deliver fixes, being Lua-based, that is fast to iterate on it and see results quicker.

I'd give you a Staff Pick if I could magically make myself have one to give ;)
I guess I'll give you a DuneWulff seal of approval instead:

Some ideas i had was have a button to auto paint decal roads with say asphalt or rocky dirt underneath. Also have a button to update the forest so it aligns to the terrain to stop it floating

Sorry it took a while, but this is a screenshot from my first ever map: Here, i use the old smooth tool to make the road, then the new smooth tool:

It's a far cry from some other player-created maps.

Also, when I try to align the terrain using the mesh road, it doesn't work properly
B25Mitch's post here https://www.beamng.com/threads/tutorial-map-in-a-month.49287/ depicts him using the same method on "Day Four" and "Day Five", but on his example, the roads are smooth.

I would love a way to map a certain terrain paint to a specific decalroad. Would make different ground types and transitions a bit easier than tediously painting under it.

Will the Original World editor be still available? This looks Amazing..is this only for Track builder or a rework of the old World editor?

I think it would be grat to see something like "spline mesh" like in Unreal Engine. It would be more handy to create guardrails, fences or things like powerlines inside the editor instead of creating it in Blender. Another thing could be auto aligning landscape to mesh road in mesh road properties for exemple. I think it would be great for map makers (like me :D)

    I agree!

    @nekitu
I hope you don't mind all of us just kinda throwing ideas at you ;)
One thing that, at least I personally, thought would be nice to have is an option for the align-terrain-to-mesh brush ignore the forest items, if at all possible. It's an issue that I run into quite often, but of course I'm only one of many. :p

It is a new world editor, written mostly in Lua with critical parts in C++.
