Yeah, shadows have been always very hard to render in BeamNG partly because of added drawcalls which used to be very heavy to do, they are almost like if they would be kinda dark colored mesh applied to where shadows are placed, but still different.

Haven't checked in latest version how heavy hit they are.

    That looks really good
Maybe make some more dangerous parts as well?

What do you mean by dangerous parts? The trees around the whole map is tight either way. Could you describe more dangerous sections?

Maybe a rock very close to the road or a blind crest and then a tight clrner or maybe a jump and a corner combined in some way

I'm simply going section by section, whatever direction or type of obstacle I feel like. All I know, should be a jump coming up soon.

A ton of fur-related shit just happened in the span of what, 15 minutes? I don't know about working on the map this moment, feeling really off. Doubt it'd be long, but don't expect updates for today.

I said “fur related” as in furry related stuff, so nobody tries helping before realizes it’s something they may not like.

But I’ll go ahead and take a break.

Heh...I’ve actually been playing Smite a ton recently, and than there’s spending time only messing with Traffic AI even if that’s killing my laptop. I might do some today, just got something else to occupy my time

In a way, I think I started making a map out of boredom, and now I’m here and I really like it. Not as much pain as cars, I still get to be creative...

Yeah I've been getting these strange thoughts in my head, "And when I start working on jbeam I'll do this" or "it'll be neat to find out how jbeam will handle this or that" ....... WHAT NO I don't want to do that, yes I do, NO I DON'T, but I do. :O Derp. Unless you're talking about working on cars in reality, at which point . . yeah it's also cheaper to make maps haha!

As for Smite, still haven't tried it, but I got carried away on Forza Horizon 4 again yesterday, 6 hours later, "Oh yeah I'm supposed to be working on my map!!"

One of the best ways to get back into it for me is always to just. . do something wild - start making a new road that goes in a new direction, new textures, whatever, and suddenly you're full-blown back to work on it and it's better than ever!

Really didn't do much with the map, only the wider portion. Used a different decalroad for the outside section, added a bit more grass to the edge of the road. I finally made the sun not so blinding, even with Light Rays on it isn't so bad. Lessened the number of clouds. Having a bit of trouble with making a smoother edge for the road. if anyone either has another texture I can use or a way to do that would be awesome.

I'm using @Brother_Dave's Natural Lighting PostFX for these, so screenshots are a lot different, especially with Light Rays on.
Thank you Beam for crashing at the perfect time. This is all I took.

Sure was a lot to say for not doing much...

Finally got a name for the map, w00
    screenshot_2019-02-23_19-20-31.png

Added that start gate, edited a bit of terrain, though not much because tedious isn't that fun. Added some checkpoint signs, enjoyed crashing down the big jump.
    screenshot_2019-02-23_20-14-33.png

Added some barriers and changed the entrance on the spectator area. Just a little bit safer...

All the signs, if I can figure it out, are going to have spawnpoints, and maybe a few more places if they fit it.

    Sign screenshots are in order.

I'm not gonna make a poll, as it's simply one part of the map. But I'm confused what I should make this area. Should this be an open area like the part before, or more dense forest? I would say it should be open, as it would make a bit more sense, and add a bit more variety in the way of the open section. Yet, I'm not sure how well that would look.

In my opinion the area would look nice mostly open, just a couple of trees here and there and maybe some rocks that will destroy your car if you aren't concentrating. I'm really looking forward to this map.

100% have an OPEN area for purdiness, but keep it rally focused or capable so that the rally folks can enjoy the whole map! =)

open yet put up some cool rockfaces that are really close/over hang the course so mistakes result in utter devastation.
but keep that area incredibly fast paced, so you can truly stretch the cars legs or wheels i guess big lol.
