I really like that strobe light and these old style pitch controls. My Thorens TD 146 Super doesn't have such things...

That 'deck you have is a damn fine machine, nice big hefty platter to keep the speed nice and stable. Though I do prefer late 70s early 80s Technics', built like a tank and will survive a nuclear blast and you can't beet the speed stability and quietness of a Technics Direct drive system.

I use an Ortofon OM 10. I'm looking into getting a nice MC cartridge soon. Maybe after I upgrade my tonearm.

Nice, are your stereo components also from Technics?

Nope, I have a Yamaha CR 620 which I've completely re-capped and replaced a few noisy signal transistors, I managed to get 54 watts into 8 ohms before it started clipping on my 'scope, not bad considering it's rated for 35 watts per channel and my speakers are a pair of Wharfedale Triton 3's finished in rosewood veneer with basket weave burgundy grill cloth.

You are clearly more experienced than me on this topic :D I also have an Ortofon cartridge but don't ask me which model and a combination of the Kenwood Basic M2A and C2 amplifiers which dispite the name do their job pretty well.

As for the speakers I have actually four (It's a big room) two KEF column speakers and two from JBL, nothing special but they do their job very well.

Sounds like you got yourself a pretty nice setup! :) you certainly got a lot more power than I do lol.

My setup is certainly overbuilt for my purposes most of the time. I'm sure the amp could rip the speakers apart easily :D

But that way there's just enough power for when I just wanna listen to Deep Purple really really loud.....
