1936-1939 Storch Motor-Werke 853 "Super Storch"
Important: This is 1.0 version. Expect couple of bugs in fixture placement. I've spotted the one small, but noticeable fixture glitch near the windshield (on the side), but I'll fix that later. The car is very playable besides some occassional visual glitches.
The Story:
This car is mechanically inspired by legendary 1930s sporty roadster Horch 853, but with couple of visual and engine improvements for better balance. First, it's powered with 131 hp inliner-6 engine with 4920cc displacement. Second, the redline is decreased to 3200 RPM, and torque is around 321 NM at 2500 RPM. The recorded top speed (tested) is 156 km/h. Visually, it's also inspired with this 1930s legend, but with some borrowed influences from rival Mercedes 540 K and even mid 1930s Packard roadster (all 1930s car fans will quickly spot them out - probably). The car has sleeky, boaty handling perfect for long highway cruising.
Now the real story - Storch was modelled after the Horch, the predecessor of Audi (which was in the 1950s divided into "official" Horch in East Germany and "unofficial" Audi in West Germany) and was renomed car manufacturer before WW2 with strong reputation across the Europe. This "Super Storch 853" was typical art-deco 1930s car, typically used by wealthy people (ranging from bankers to actors and even mobsters). Produced for just 3 years, it was direct challenger to Gassler K 540, in just one difference. This fella was powered by naturally-aspirated inliner-6, while the Gassler was powered with supercharged "Kompressor" engine. Logically, WW2 halted the production, and after the WW2 some cars were trasferred to the USA and Soviet Union as war trophies.
