1946-1952 Nygaard Commando Race Car 1.0

This is the racing version of the Nygaard Commando. This beast of an automobile has a 2.5 liter inline 4 that revs up to 8,500 rpm and produces a whopping 234 horsepower, which is sent to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual transmission. This allows the car to go from 0-60 in 7.3 seconds, and reach a top speed of 133 miles per hour. To aid in the car's handling, an experimental front lip an rear diffuser was fitted. This generated 20 lbs. of downforce; not very much, but it was still an innovation. Even though the car's experimental modifications did generate downforce, it was still a tough car to handle at high speed. The key to controlling the Commando is gentle steering movements and a decent sense of throttle control. It is not the best car for a beginner, but when it is in the right hands, it could compete with the best of them.
