The Hawley Chiton was know as the safest sports car in the mid 70s, but was known even better as a commercial failure. It's 220hp 5.8L V8 was no where near enough to make this 2,500 pound wedge seem sporty, even with a completely fiberglass body and the visual aesthetics that were 10 years ahead of it's time. Be careful under hard braking, because this car is very nose heavy, and the rear will kick out if you're not careful!
