1976-1990 GS Imperium G1 1.0

The model that cemented GS Motors in the medium sized luxury sedan market.

  1. MANDIOSAL
The 1st generation of the GS Imperium, internally named G1, was GS' entry into the mid sized luxury sedan market and it was a huge deal for GS Motors. It was the first model to come equiped with the then new R6H 2.4l I6 engine, which was GS' first engine to feature Electronic Fuel Injection and a Catalytic Converter, which helped with keeping emissions down. In the Imperium, this engine could either be Naturally Aspirated or Turbocharged which was a big deal at the time. The Imperium G1 was remarkably successful, being sold for 14 years, from 1976 until 1990, being replaced in 1991 by the Imperium G2. With such a long production run, two facelifts and several versions were made . For now, this mod includes two of those version, the launch version 1976 GS Imperium 2400 Premium Series and the 1989 GS Imperium Cascadia Imola Finale, with the plan to add more versions, including a 1983 Imola high performance variant.

1976 GS Imperium 2400 Premium Series

The 2400 Premium Series was one of the trims avaliable when the Imperium launched in 1976.

It features a Naturally Aspirated version of the R6H 2.4l I6 engine. It puts out 126Bhp and 178Nm of torque. This power went to the rear wheels through either a 4-speed Manual or a 3-speed Automatic (mod comes with the 4-speed Manual). 0-100kph happened in 10.4 seconds.
Inside, the Premium Series was a luxurious machine, with a leather steering wheel, a wooden dash and a special cloth pattern for the seats.

On the outside, the Premium Series came as standard with fog lights, alloy wheels, chrome bumpers and a variety of other chrome pieces of trim.

1989 GS Imperium Cascadia Imola Finale

The Imperium G1 received two facelifts over it's 14 year lifespan. The first one came in 1983 and a second one came in 1989. The second facelift was only avaliable for 2MYs, from 1989 and 1990. However, it was a deep one with a new front fascia, new front bumpers, new lights, a retweaked rear end, new technology such the introduction of an onboard computer, retuned engines and the introduction of a limited edition convertible model dubbed the Imperium Cascadia Imola Finale.

Limited to 1976 units, this special edition was meant to celebrate the end of the 1st gen's prodution run. As the name suggests, it was based on the Imperium Imola. So, under the hood was a 2.4l Twin-Turbo I6, the same as previous Imola versions. However, it was retuned, the result was 12Bhp bump to 272Bhp and 430Nm of torque, all while being emission compliant. Unlike the regular Imola, this power was sent to the rear wheels through 4-speed Automatic exclusive to the Cascadia. This meant 0-100kph in just 7 seconds, with a top speed of 253kph.

The Cascadia Imola Finale features a slew of visual upgrades that distinguish it from the regular Imola. On the outside, changes include a bigger splitter, blacked out bumpers and side strips, special 17' multispoke wheels and a two tone paint job with a golden stip that stretches all around the car. On the inside, the Imola Finale features a mixtures of cream leather and wood, along with special patterns on the doorcards and the seats.

The Cascadia Imola Finale was sold alongside the other facelifted Imperium versions from 1989 to 1990, at which point the 1st generation Imperium was replaced with the 2nd generation.

Both models come with working gauges, warning lights, pedals, parking brake and steering wheel.

    What comes next?
Like stated before, currently the mod comes with two versions. However, i intend on adding a high performance variant of the sedan, 1983 Imperium Imola, seen in the pictures below (white model in the middle):
