When Armor Motors debuted the compact Cricket in 1975, it was initially overshadowed by entries from other brands. But, as the flaws in those other cars revealed themselves (in the form of shoddy workmanship and mountains of recalls), Armor Motors found customers literally running to their showroom floors.
With a whopping 85 horsepower on tap, the Cricket wasn't exactly an enthusiast's dream. It was, however, a sturdy, reliable, economical commuter car at an entry-level price. By the end of the decade almost 520,000 units had been sold.
This 'S' model features a sport-tuned suspension and blacked out front and rear bumpers.
