The Story:

Some say that this was the worst car ever-made, but in former Yugoslav republics this car is part of nostalgia. Actually, it was updated Luxo (Fiat) 127 model with borrowed parts from 128, and designed as a replacement for aging 750/850 model, which traces its roots into the mid 1950s.
Yougo Corale 45 (real-life Yugo) philosophy was simple - "Start the engine and drive". Many flaws were recorded, the fuel consumption was very high for economy car (7-8.5 L / 100 km), plastic interior was annoying, ignition stories are still part of popular culture in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Slovenia or Macedonia as the practical jokes.
But nevertheless, people loved this car, and it was successfull even with the present, more expensive competitors until the dissolution of the country.
In the 1990s, it was frequently tuned as a cheap alternative for German, more valuable 1980s street racing models.
In the 1980s, the most widespread engine was 1.0 L (127-based) or 1.1 L (128-based) borrowed from Italian big brother, along with the DCOE / Weber carburettor. The assembling proces was present in all Yugoslav republics, and this car had the unsuccessful story in USA as a part of patching the Yugoslav external debt to this country, which gained its shameful award as the "worst car in the history".

1.3 Improvements and fixes

• Totally updated visual look (internal and external)
• The Innocenti body was chosen instead of KEE Panda one
• The car has now the better handling
• 46 bhp engine / 1020cc inliner-4 is now the engine
• Revamped interior
• Added BeamNG cam positions
• Top speed: 146 km/h
• The car now behaves more like real-life Yugo than the parody three-wheeler.
