NM runs under it's parent company Guardian as it's economy/city brand and during the seventies Guardian relied on NM to deliver economic cars that would hold Guardian and NM up until Guardian could perfect their fuel injection formula. The Sandsailor was proposed to be the car of the future. it's only claim to that was Guardian's experimental Fuel injection system that wouldn't run past 50 thousand miles. this issue was resolved in the second generation.
This is that second generation, boasting boosted power, handling and comfort with it's improved engine and build quality. these sold extremely well and is probably why NM has kept it around into the present.![]()
