1984-1995 MAT 90 T 5
Disclaimer: This little truck is inspired by most famous light truck from former Yugoslavia, the TAM 75/80 family, but with slightly more horsepower and little less boxy design. The torque is almost realistic. Some stats are not realistic, for example weight and fuel used (TAM mostly had used diesel - sorry no diesel ingame). Interior is simplified and stripped down as in real truck. Enjoy : )
Improvements & fixes (Version 3.0):
The Story:
- Horsepower decreased from 97.4 to 94.7 bhp @ 2400 PRM
- Torque decreased to more realistic 281.1 Nm @ 2400 RPM
- Compression decreased to 11:0:1
- Car now uses cheap, unleaded 85 RON
- Fuel consumption increased from 12.2 l/100 km to 12.6 l/100 km
- Acceleration 0-100 km/h is now more realistic and slower (from 19 to 20.2 seconds)
- Added speedometer and tachometer in interior (they're not perfect)
- Added rust or mud decorations, the car is now decently dirty
- The car looks signaficantly more worn out
- Added useless props (boxes and wheel) in the loading tray (sadly, they are not destructable)
- The car is now little less shiny
- Fixed interior mirror position
- The handling is now little less responsive (from 49.2 to 48.4)
- Decals are now more close to the license plates
- Added gearbox clutch in the interior
- The car is now very well detailed as it should be (size increased from 34 MB to 44 MB)
MAT 90 T 5 was the most modern and most powerful light truck from the MAT family, which was introduced in 1961 and produced until the mid 1990s. It was simple, reliable and handy backbone for most Yugoslav state enterprises, and also the underdeveloped private enterpreurs until the breakup of the country in the early 1990s. The engine was actually loud tractor engine based on US made Perkins 3.9L inliner-4. The truck was COE based, that means the engine was below the driver's cabin, as most small European models. The original models were influenced by Italian counterparts, but simplified and stripped down from unwanted details during their production. MAT was simple, reliable and multirole small truck, which served various roles. It was minibus for rural lines, it was firetruck, it was covered delivery truck, oil cistern, support truck for construction companies and some were even ambulances in the less-developed parts of Yugoslavia. Cherished and adored by most Yugoslav citizens, it's still present even now in the successor republics' roads in many roles, mostly as covered van or open (kipper) model. The model was known for its rugged suspension and small wheelbase, and 5 tons weight capacity, and was - and still is - perfect for low-scale job purposes.
This model ingame is present as kipper model, that means it has open cargo tray for delivering as many raw goods as possible.
Inspired by TAM T75/80 family but with more punch.
