1985-1995 AZMK 2141 aka "Daleko"

Inspired by Simca 1307 and AZLK 2141 "Aleko".

The Story:
This spicy Soviet hatchback was made in 1985 on existing template, to be more precise the Casim 1307 of the French origin. The wheelbase and the chassis was the same for both models, and it was the most advanced Soviet car of the 1980s. Until the Soviet economical collapse, the AZMK engineers had to do more than hundreds of improvements to differ the car from the original French model. Also, during the 5 years, the engine had improvements too. After reverse-engineering the Poisette engine, various improvements have been made in favour of reliability, adaptation to the cheap 85 RON fuel, slightly decreased redline and the torque. The more rigid suspension was also added, but with innovative McPherson strut on the front. The rear suspension was torsion beam, which was milestone achievement for the Soviet car industry. It was also the first AZMK with FWD, and 1st with 80s hatchback design. In its original form it was produced until the 1995, when it received facelift. In export markets it was known as "Daleko" (Slavic word for Far Away) and was moderate commercial success in Eastern and Central European markets during the collapse of the Iron Curtain and shortly after.
