1986 Serpent Flash WSR 1.0

An Euro-American rally-bred coupé.

When it comes to homologating a car for rallying, there are usually two choices. Cheap out and make as few road-going examples as possible, or go all-in, making a true, widely-available driver's machine. This time, Serpent went for the latter.

This is the 1986 Serpent Flash WSR, the top-of-the-line of the 80's Flash lineup. Originally a compact car, the WSR produces 250 horsepower from a 2-liter straight-4 turbo engine. It's mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, sending all the power to the rear wheels. This leads to a fairly rapid acceleration, and a top speed around 170 mph. The Flash WSR is technically the successor to the Group B TR400, and was produced between 1986-1988. The Flash model itself would last up until 1994.

Included in the WSR package is also an extensive body kit, made mostly of fiberglass. In addition there is also a huge rear wing, helping keep the car (mostly) in a straight line. It loves corners, and is not afraid to kick its tail out if you give it some gas!

Here is the Flash WSR in Utah. It prefers asphalt in this configuration, but is not afraid of some dirt either.

Thank you for driving my car. I hope you enjoy the it!
