In the 1988 North American Auto Show, Taylor Automotive released a car which appeared as if it came from the 21st century. The Concept was dubbed the Vision-2018, and it certainly shares many design cues to models built in the modern day. From the bold-looking headlights and taillights with LED-like effects, to it's smooth edges and 18 inch 6-spoke wheels, it was unlike many concepts on the showroom floor with more aggressive and sharp designs

Built on an all-aluminum chassis and with a interior well equipped with the latest (and also experimental) technology of the 80s, it was made to as a glimpse to what cars will look like 30 years into the future. Taylor's vision wasn't a hover car (as many assumed would be), but rather a conventional car with a smoothed body that has a drag coefficient of just a little over 0.24. Powered by a one-of-it's-kind 30-Valve 2.4-Liter V6 with twin sequential turbochargers and mated to an advanced 6-speed automatic gearbox and a full-time Viscous All-Wheel-Drive system, it was aimed at being as efficient as possible at the Low-RPM range while also being responsive to the throttle at the High-RPM Range as well. With an estimated 0-60mph (0-98km/h) time at around 9.1 seconds, it is on par to most modern day compact cars. Taylor claims a potential top speed of 139mph (about 233km/h).

Noting this car was made in 1988, Taylor truly predicted the outcome of modern day compact cars in both style and performance, if only they made it a crossover...
