2007 CB Ecostar 1.5

Welcome to the Ecostar, the car so fuel efficient you'll think its a hybrid!

In 2005, CB saw the success of the Prius and how the market was shifting towards fuel efficient cars. CB decided to design a small city car similar to the Smart For Two, that was cheap to produce and extremely fuel efficient.

CB however did not have the budget to design and produce a hybrid drivetrain system so they had to make do with a regular gas powered engine. Two years later and after many iterations; the engineers were able to produce an inline 4 engine with standard MPG of 55.3! Meanwhile the car was already a year behind schedule so it was rushed into production without being properly tested.

Two years later in August 2007, CB released the Ecostar onto the market.
The Ecostar was met with less than favourable reviews as critics and the market were not happy with the engine build quality, slow speed, sloppy handling and overall unusual looks. But no matter if you loved or hated the car no one could deny that the car set a new standard in non hybrid fuel economy technology.

In later months CB would fix some of the problems that were present, such as general build quality issues. The Ecostar soon saw a strong pickup in sales as more and more people were searching for fuel efficient vehicles at a low cost. As years went by the Ecostar proved to be somewhat popular with consumers despite its below average performance. The cars styling which some thought was ugly proved to be ahead of its time, having features such as LED headlamps as standard.
not to mention its distinctive silver bumpers and bright colour pallet.

In all the CB Ecostar set a new standard in fuel economy and proved successful enough for CB to still produce them to this day.

Right with that out of the way lets get into it.
One thing I want to say is This car is not fast. Not by any means. It was designed to be a small city car so don't expect this to do well round a track
This car has:

• 92HP engine producing 99ft lbs of torque
• A top speed of 200 kp/h (good luck getting there)
• an MPG of 55.3
• 6 speed automatic gearbox.
