    Lore
To compete in the upcoming 2007 FIA-GT championship, Honda and Mugen began a joint project to develop a road going NSX in just 128 days. This is the car that would become the Honda NSX-R GT1. The front fascia of the car comes from the NSX, but the rest of the car is pure racing machine. The body skeleton is a carbon-fibre-composite monocoque with a steel roll cage, along with the iconic giant air intake on the roof from the road going NSX Type R models.

This is the homologated Road Car built for FIA regulations. In its de-tuned version the N/A v6 makes 506hp with its top speed limited for saftey reasons and now includes basic creature comforts such as climate control, a second seat and cloth lined floor/doors while still retaining the original NSX's steering wheel/column, push start/ main relay switch. This newly added weight and limited top speed the NSX-R GT1 Road Car maintains its racing pedigree while being able to allow the driver to glimpse into what it feels like to drive a GT1 race car on the street.
