The 2020 Watson Manticore is a more classic, sleek alternative to today's supercars. Based off the designs of Le Mans prototypes from the '60s, its styling is intended to be exciting yet elegant.
Behind the open air seats is a racing-esque, 5.9 L NA V10 producing a monstrous 843 HP (629 kW) @ 8900 RPM and 555 lb-ft (752 N-m) of torque @ 7000 RPM. Sending this power through a 7-speed DCT to an AWD system down to the massive, sticky tires of a 3054 lb (1385 kg) car means explosive acceleration.
What kind of acceleration? On the right drag strip, this AWD convertible with 43F/57R weight distribution will do wheelies. It will hit 62 mph (100 kph) in well under 2.5 seconds, blistering through the quarter mile in a scarce 8.8 seconds. The top end is strong as well, as it easily reaches above 235 mph. Its grip is impressive too, maxing out at 1.26 g.
With the traction control off, all that power is a lot to deal with, but despite the ultra-wide semi slick tires, it's doable to regain control if it steps out of line. At high speeds it dances a bit, but it's not unmanageable. Please give me your thoughts on how it drives, and I hope you enjoy playing with it!
