While I don't like to make replicas of real-life cars, I'm making an exception in this case, as an homage to the car my grandparents used to own (and I still have, though haven't driven her in years). A Ford Taunus 1.6, 1974 model. Or at least as close to it as Automation's selection of body models allowed me. Right down to the suspension configuration, tire width, and the bright yellow coloring.
It's a light (945kg), barebones coupe, with a nicely wobbly suspension (trust me, the real car is quite soft in suspension, though I guess it may have gotten a bit softer over the past... 46 years), powered by a 1576ccm 72hp engine, with a 103nm or torque. It doesn't mind revving quite high, up to 6200 o/min, which is also pretty accurate.
Obviously, don't expect any kind of Earth-shattering performance from the car, since it is faithfully based on the real thing. 13.6 seconds to a 100 kph, and will top out at 152, after quite a bit of a run-up, on flat tarmac. Any kind of incline will lower that significantly, the lack of power is particularily felt on steeper climbs. I am quite satisfied with the driving characteristics, they seem to be a pretty fair recreation of the real thing.
Anyway, I hope you like it. I know it's not competitive in performance with most of the creations here, but it's not meant to be. It's meant to be an as-close-to-real-life as possible recreation of a car I love, and have grown up with.
