There are three variants of the 78'.
The fictitious 78' model:
This is the 1978 model; it comes with a 439ci (7.2 L) over head valve V8 that makes around 360 hp (268 kW).

Why is it fictitious? The fuel regulations in 70's wouldn't allow this car to be road worthy as this thing only gets 6 mpg (2.55 kpl)
A true 78' version:

It's not much different than the fictitious variant, but under the hood is where it's unique. It has a smaller engine with only 180 hp (134 kW) making this the true to life 78' version.
Eco:
This was a failed attempt by Albany to make a EU spec model.
![]()
It failed to comply with EU regulations at the time and was not allowed to be sold in Europe. Albany already made 10,000 of these cars with the ambition that it would pass. To get rid of them they sold them to the US market as the ECO. It came with a 2 L inline 5 that made around 119 kW (160 hp).
Bonus:
2002 Elgrande:
This is the 2002 Elgrande with a 4.9 L Southstar V8.
