    Formally known as Arcade Steering.

This mod is an overhaul of BeamNG's steering input system for controller and keyboard players.

Advanced Steering aims to give vehicles a steering feel thats more intuitive and closer to how real cars behave. It's suited for all kinds of driving including track racing, rallying, drifting etc. and it's recommended to anyone on keyboard or controller regardless of skill level. It also includes customizable settings, so everyone can dial in the steering feel they prefer.

    The main features include:
    • Accurate steering limit to utilize the steered wheels' peak grip
      • This is similar to the Understeer reduction assistant in 0.26+
    • Natural self-steer tendency, simulating the effects of the car's caster angle
      • This is similar to the Oversteer reduction assistant in 0.26+
    • More refined steering feel compared to the stock input system
    • Highly customizable settings
The principles implemented by this mod are a common way of processing steering input in racing games (both arcade and sim), and they mimic real-life driving mechanics. The goal is to make the steering behave in a way that you otherwise wouldn't get if your input device lacks force-feedback.

The mod includes a UI app called Advanced Steering Settings which lets you fine tune the steering feel to your liking, although the default settings should be fine for most people.

    Have fun!

if steering is broken it's because Tuning: ALL the Wheel Alignment settings CAN'T be set to 0% on the broken cars (works on the Wigeon for me)

Great mod, only downside is on some configs steering gets stuck and you are unable to drive the car like you normally would, if this is still being updated, pls fix lol, otherwise would give 5 stars

On vehicles with non-standard chassis, the wheels get stuck in the outermost position and nothing happens from there

When it works, it's great. However, I've noticed for some configurations (Gavril Scout and a "fixed" ETK 1300 mod) break the ability for the car to work. Steering "calibrates" but then is stuck in the left-most position that the wheel can turn. (noticed with the automatic transmission configs of the Scout)

As others have said, great mod. Must have imho. I have found it no longer works with Automation exports, any chance of a fix?

Fantastic mod, has been a must-have for me since I started playing this game. Which is quite a shame that its having some issues in 0.31. There's times that the game doesn't seem to register the mod is installed as no steering calibration stuff occurs until I either unsub from the mod, or disable and renable it. Not sure if you're still working on this, but I do hope you are.

This mod is an absolute game changer. Literally. It is almost impossible to play on controller without it once you’re used to it. Which leads me to say unfortunately it looks like it’s having some issues with version 0.31. On some cars, the steering is jammed to one side on spawn and is then unresponsive. Disabled the mod and it works fine. Not sure if you’re still working on this but I’d love to see an update. Cheers!

I can't say much about this as I have not thoroughly tested it on controller or keyboard, but I can say that from the time I have had it, I have been using a steering wheel setup. And every time I spawn a new car or add a customization to my car, the steering goes all the way right and all the way left. I don't know if this is an intended feature. But when using a wheel, the force feedback gets jerked left and right really quickly at full power. And I don't know how to disable this if it is even possible to disable without getting rid of the mod entirely. Fixing this would also help on MP servers that have this mod installed.

That's the steering calibration, it's intentional. It needs to happen when the car spawns in order for the mod to work right. You can disable the mod through the UI app when you don't need it, then it won't do anything. But if you have it enabled then it will do the calibration when you spawn a car. Maybe I could try to make it disable FFB while it's doing this, I'll look into that.
