The BMW 850CSI: The surprisingly good forgotten classic
The BMW 8 series was a luxury coupe designed to attract wealthy luxury car buyers to the BMW brand. It was not a replacement for the 6 series of the time and was supposed to be the very best BMW could offer. There were multiple variants including the 840CI which had a 4.2 litre V8 and the 850 CI which had a V12. The 850CSI however was tuned to be faster and harder with stiffened lowered suspension to improve cornering and more power. All variants were available with the option of a manual or automatic transmission.
