BMW E46 Megapack (14 trims, 10 standard, 4 M-power) 1.0

Several trims of the fourth generation 3 series

  1. Megtorlow
    Hey folks!
It's been a while since I made something here. Mostly because I've been busy, and also I had to learn these new 3D and interior features. With the associated knowledge, I felt ready to make an E46, as it was requested already.

The E46. Made between 1998-2006, successor of the E36 ( :'( ), predecessor of the E90. The development started in 1993, it's basically Chris Bangle's first "child" at BMW. Looking back now it wasn't a failure at all, some trims were looked quite okay, but I'm not here to discuss the matter of taste. Some like it, some love it, some don't.
    Moving on with the list..

The package contains the following models:
    1999 316i: Smallest 3 series available for pre-facelift models, with a bored-out M43 engine.
    2003 316Ti Compact: It's a looker, isn't it? :D
2004 318i: Facelift model with the new N42 engine. "N" badged engines are successors of "M" badged engines (M40,M43,M50,M52,etc), with polar bear friendly improvements, and a timing chain from some child-sized bicycle.
2000 320d: A sturdy little workhorse. Eastern Europe's favourite import target in the mid 2010s.
1998 323i: An older, more reliable piece of engineering available at model release.
2006 320Ci: An overall good coupe, from the more sensible side.
1999 328Ci: I genuinely like this model. Mostly because the engine came from the strongest non M-power E36.
2002 330Ci: You want an M3, but you don't have enough dough? Here's the solution!
2004 330xi Touring: A good alternative if you want a fast beemer, but you're blessed with the burden of family, or just work at a construction site. All-wheel driven, to arrive everywhere in time even in winter.
2002 330d: Biggest diesel version. Lots and lots and lots of torque.
2001 M3: A lot of people state that this is the best M3 ever made. While I can't exactly agree with that, there's no doubt for me that this one's on the podium, with its raspy voice.
2004 M3 CSL: Basically a ripped M3, less weight, more power, more downforce.
2005 M3 GTR (Straßenversion): Homologation model for Le Mans, 10 of them were made. Which makes it more than 3 times rarer, than the Ferrari 250 GTO.
M3 GTR Most Wanted: You read it right. I guess you're gonna love this one..

    General specs:
    Production: 1998-2006
    Wheelbase: 2740mm
    Length: 4480-4510mm (Compact: 4420mm /couldn't make it shorter/)
    Suspension front: Macpherson struts
    Suspension rear: Multilink
Drivetrain: Longitudional Rear wheel drive or All-wheel drive (x-Drive, only used in the Touring model)
Facelift years: 2001 (Sedan, Touring), 2003 (Coupé)
Facelift changes: Bumpers, headlights and taillights

    Disclaimers:
I couldn't make all specifications real life-like. There could be minor differences (major for top speeds).
Consumptions and acceleration speeds are Automation-claimed values. I didn't test all of them in Beam.
All Coupé ("C" badged) models are equipped with limited slip differential for sporty feeling. All sedan, touring, and compact models are equipped with factory open differential.
"M3" and "M3 CSL" models have dual exhaust visually, but only one of them is functional (dual exhaust on inline6 engines is not available)
Most interior parts only resemble the real thing, but a lot of components were improvised
Interiors are variated, in terms of equipment, colors, etc.
There are lots of fixtures on each trim. This made the overall size bigger, and may cause minor visual disfunctions. Also, not every fixture placed 100% perfectly.

This is an amazing mod!! The body and interior is so realistic! 1000/10!!! The only thing I recommend is that you make a ricer version because where I live people rice the heck out of this car. But other than that, this is probably the best Automation mod I have ever seen!!!! You definitely deserve more support then you have now!!! :D

Thanks for the review, and your kind words! It was on my mind to make a heavily modified model as well, probably a ricer, or the replica of the 24h 330d model from Top Gear. I couldn't really decide, and in the end I decided to stay at the stock models. I'll probably make something like that in the future. :)
