Alpha BMW M150i 0.1

A non-production super hatchback

BMW M150i - The hidden gem.

The BMW M150i was a non-production hot hatch made by BMW in 2012 as an attempt to gain the upper high ground in the quickly going hot hatch market. The M150i features a 3.0L 6 Cylinder engine similar to the production model M135i which was released a few months later. It has a recorded 0-100km/h time of just 3.9 seconds which was ground breaking and can still keep up to many hot hatches to this day. The official BHP reading of this car is unknown, but sources tell us that it recorded 650~ BHP on a dyno back in 2012 which is faster than many sports saloons and some higher spec sports car. The M150i housed an AWD drivetrain powered by a 7 speed automatic gearbox which was the first non-RWD vehicle made by BMW. The M150i was a favorite of German sports magazines and Nürburgring testers due to the comfortable ride and the bouncy suspension which made it a joy on track and gave it character. Due to the M150i not being a production model, it didn't feature the standard 155mph German speed limit and has been recorded at hitting upwards of 200mph. Only 3 of these models were ever made by BMW, however, one was crashed during a Nürburgring test lap due to ESC failure in 2014. The stupidly powerful engine and prone to unreliability was the main reason this car never entered production which lead to BMW favoring the less powerful 3.0 liter 6 cylinder used in the M135i
