In 1970, Burnside decided to create the most American car possible. It featured a V8 engine under the hood, angular body shapes, and a lot of chrome. This is exactly what the Springfield model became.
The name Springfield was chosen because there are many cities in the United States with that name, so it seemed fitting for a truly American car.
