Every now and then, we ask ourselves. "What can we turn into a car?"
Built on a bet that you could build a camper from scratch on a small budget and still present something more reliable than a Ford Pickup, the Calvinator engineering team created this IKEA project.
Budget was $2000. The team could donate things they had. The company gave them an old 1944 Calvinator XL Chassis to start with and gave them two choices. A Calvinator 7L 6cyl Dual Turbo Diesel engine with 1500 BHP and 2200 LBFT of Torque but with a $500 budget, or a Calvinator 3L V6 TT gas burning engine with just over 1000 BHP and 700 LBFT of torque, but a $2000 Budget.
Powered by a 3L V6 with over 1000 BHP, the Redneck Mobile goes 180 mph. It has a separate deck for sleeping, plastic lawn chairs, a bar counter, and Katy, the new engineer, as the bar tender. The body is made of Ebony and White Oak planks and sheets on top of the aforely mentioned 1944 Calvinator XL Chassis. Windows, windshield and doors are made of tempered, multilayer bullet proof glass. Also, very large 4K TV behind the bar.
Neilogical, can you take this thing to the car jump arena this next episode?
