The second generation of the Corvo Turbo represents a significant evolution from its predecessor. Built upon the sophisticated galvanized steel monocoque chassis used across the manufacturer's range, engineers have crafted a genuine sports car disguised as a comfortable daily driver and capable grand tourer. This model is offered in three distinct variants, each with a unique character.

    1. Corvo Turbo 1.4 16V (2004) - The Agile Performer
This model embodies the original concept of the car: high performance from a compact engine.

    • Powertrain: At its heart is a spirited 1.4-litre turbocharged inline-4 engine. Despite its modest displacement, this 16-valve DOHC unit produces an impressive 150 hp, a figure typically found in a higher category. The power is managed by advanced electronics and sent to the front wheels through an engaging 6-speed manual gearbox, ensuring the right gear is always available.

    • Performance & Dynamics: The lightweight chassis (1,242 kg) and sophisticated Multi-Link rear suspension provide exceptional handling balance, allowing the car to achieve a top speed of 247 km/h and sprint from 0-100 km/h in 8.16 seconds. It can also pull up to 0.889 g in corners, confirming its sporting pedigree.

    2. Corvo Turbo5 2.2 25V (2004) - The Powerhouse
The Turbo5 is an absolute novelty for the range, characterized by its unique engine configuration.

    • Powertrain: It is powered by a compact yet potent 2.2-litre turbocharged inline-5 engine. This 25-valve masterpiece delivers a staggering 259 hp, transforming the Corvo into a true performance machine.

    • Practicality: Despite its power, it remains practical with a useful 949-litre cargo capacity. However, this performance comes with a trade-off; the aggressive tune results in higher fuel consumption, with an estimated economy of around 16.87% thermal efficiency (approximately 10 km/l or 23.5 mpg).

    3. Corvo Turbo5 GripControl TwinTronic (2006) - The Ultimate All-Weather Predator
In 2006, the special GripControl TwinTronic version was introduced, taking the Turbo5's capabilities to a new level.

    • Powertrain & Drivetrain: It features the same formidable 259 hp 2.2-litre inline-5 engine but is now paired with a groundbreaking 6-speed Dual-Clutch (TwinTronic) transmission. The most significant upgrade is the incorporation of an "On-Demand" all-wheel-drive system (GripControl).

    • Character & Performance: This combination of AWD traction and lightning-fast gear changes provides immense grip and stability, turning the Corvo into a bona fide sports car with all-weather confidence. The added technology increases the weight to 1,393 kg but ensures its prodigious power is deployed effectively, making it the most complete and capable version of the lineup.

    Summary
The second-generation Corvo Turbo successfully bridges the gap between everyday usability and thrilling performance. From the agile and efficient 1.4 16V to the raw power of the Turbo5 and the technological tour-de-force of the GripControl TwinTronic, the range offers a compelling choice for driving enthusiasts who refuse to compromise on practicality.
