The idea is awesome, the execution very good in basis! It is sturdy enough, only a small amount of sagging. I ran over it, i crashed it, dropped it: the swivel endured! Bravo!
Some things that might be added, to improve handling:
- a sort of swaybar principle, to dampen the sudden movement. this swaybar will also counteract some of the 'torque swivel' , so the use of low rev power diesels does not instantly put me on my roof while crawling up a rocky slope...
- a way to set the amount of degrees that it can swivel (10, 15, 20 etc.)
- A special bed with some rounded edges around the swivelpoint, so it doesn't get stuck while crawling in extreme angles...Sucks to get stuck .
I feel that these additions will make your mod complete, and perfect.
This is absolutely amazing. A suggestion though, it's kind of an odd idea and probably not that useful for any applications in beam, but do you think you'll add a swivel frame for the D-series offroad frame at one point? (The prerunner/baja/trophy truch/crawler etc frame)
been wanting a power wagon for a long time, even tried to make a swivel frame myself, but it was too floppy, didnt really work properly, gave up too early. i still wanna make a power wagon tho
but dayum this is nice asf dude.
great work for a first mod!
