Dan Gurneys Eagle MK1 (Formula 1, 1966-67) 1.0

Eagle Mk1 with its Gurney-Weslake V12 is considered to be one of the most beautiful vehicles ever to hit the Formula 1 scene. It was built for American race car driver Dan Gurney by Len Terry for his Anglo-American Racers team and did much more than turn heads with its iconic beaked nose.

It originally came with a 2.7L I-4 engine for the start of the 66 season but switched to the custom-built Gurney-Weslake 3.0L V12 that output 395hp at 10500 RPMs which allowed it to win a few races towards the end of the season. But the car only did half the work, the real reason this thing won was because of the driver himself, Dan Gurney. Gurney is known to be the only driver to win the first victory for 3 constructors: Porsche (1962), Brabham (1964), and AAR Eagle (1967).


The mod is very clean but certainly not perfect, I've spent months just fixing the weight distribution and body details but eventually got caught up with more pressing matters. However, it is still very complete and very fun to drive (even with keyboard), and its steers like a dream (with the potential to become a nightmare) as it hardly understeers and has just the right amount of oversteer (the kind you want on a 60 year old race car). And even though its automation, I found the time to get the dials working (for RPMs and MPH only) as well as a working steering wheel. The interior is mostly there and the Iconic nose is there too.

Now there are more cars in the works that are like this mod that i have been working on, such as a Honda RA273, a Lotus 43 (with custom made H-16), and a fictional Formula 1 Porsche based on the 804 that I'm calling the 966. But as I said, those are all WIP and will be distributed sparingly as I don't have that much time on my hands.
