While I rate this mod 5/5 overall, the most recent update is causing beamng to crash to desktop with a fatal error (heap exception or something, I know HEAP is the first part, heap violation perhaps. . .?). Removing this mod from my beamng user mods folder eliminated the crashes entirely. I have no other camera mods, using 100% base game ui apps with 253 total active mods (none unpacked) including configs, skins, maps, etc..
Highly recommend trying it out, maybe it's a me problem, idk. Excellent work by the mod author nonetheless.

imma give it a four because i saw the video and it looks great, but the mod doesn't work in the newer versions sadly.
-
Author's ResponseI just gave it a test and it's working on my end on the latest BeamNG version. Can you make a post on this forum of the issues you're having? Thanks.

I love this mod! it's great and gives a nice touch to the game, we barely notice it but it somehow gives out such a nice feeling to the game, however when the car spins and turns in the air fast then the camera kinda goes all goofy and all over the place, still good tho

Didn't this mod have left and right acceleration effects before? I could have sworn that it used to simulate head movement in turns. Great mod though!
-
Author's ResponseNo, it's never had any effects for left/right acceleration unfortunately. Having something like that is in my list of things to implement, however.

Hi, this mod really tanks FPS on some machines. Tried with and without (enabled and disabled) only this mod on 3060 gpu and noticed drops of about 40-50 fps. I sit at a comfortable 165fps at my monitors refresh rate and with this mod i cant get higher than 90
-
Author's ResponseHmm, weird. I use my own mod when playing in VR and I don't notice a difference in performance when switching my camera views. And my framerate is already quite low in VR (average about 40-50 fps). I'll take a look regardless and see if I can reproduce it.

Much needed improvement with the last update. Besides that issue, the mod was amazing. Mod is now perfect in my eyes. 10/10.

Great mod! I love how stable the view is when bouncing down a rocky road. Still having all the feeling of the cars movment. Works great with "Beam Eye Tracker".
My one wish would be: is there a way to add a setting so you can move the seat (view) from Driver to Passenger and back? Right now, we can move up, down, tilt, forward, and back. But if the view is too far driver, you cannot move the view more center or the other way. More of an issue with mods than Dev. vehicles. Amazing first Mod!-
Author's ResponseIt won't be very easy to be able to attach the camera to the passenger seats of most vehicles, sadly. Official BeamNG vehicles do not have a camera node placed at the passenger seats, so my mod doesn't know where to place the camera without explicitly coding where the seats are in each vehicle.

Hey, awesome mod, love it. Sadly I speak no git, but the code snippets you are looking for to hide the apps can be found in the old "Look Ahead" Cam mod. Main part:
if self.disabledCockpitApps == false then
--pretend to be the driver camera
guihooks.trigger('onCameraNameChanged', {name = "driver"})
self.disabledCockpitApps = true
end
Works perfect for me.-
Author's ResponseThank you for this. It works! I have submitted update v2.5 with this added in. Should be out soon when the admins approve it.

this is so good. is very good for automation cars as the cams on there are stiffer than stiff. also, looked at the wiki (the wiki, not documentation) and find that to make the ui apps invis, you type in "cockpitCamera" this might not work but it could. the wiki shows this example "[0.336, 0.10, 1.12, 65, "f1ll","f1r","f2ll","f2r","f8l","f8r",{"cockpitCamera":true}] //Cockpit camera is used by the UI apps to disable apps when in cockpit view" to keep it with the rules of it being a review, this is a review and this is a good mod

Huge thank you to the creator of this mod! It made offroading in VR so much more comfortable. I made a little review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzaoB1daJ7k

I didn't think this could improve the games in car view but it is fantastic. The realism of when you go over bumpy ground and the car goes from side to side and other things is amazing.
It really does add to the realism of the game and I thank you so much for this. :)
Hope you had a great Christmas and have a superb New Year and successful 2025! -

I installed it out of curiosity, but this mod is a masterpiece, I use trackIR and since the installation the game has changed beyond recognition. In my opinion, this is the best mod on the forum at the moment. You're a champion, man!
