In 1973 were introduced the GAZ 24-01 taxi and an ambulance modification - GAZ 24-03. There were other prototypes, build in small numbers - Gaz 24-24 with 5,53 litre V8 petrol engine; Gaz 24-95 - a 4x4 model; GAZ 24 cabriolet. The GAZ 24-10 (basically GAZ 24 with a more modern plastic grille) was produced from 1985 until 1992.
