You need to move a car on public roads, but you deregistered it already! Or you want to get to a car meet, but you'd never pass inspection with that kind of tuning!
In Germany, there's a solution for everything. The solution to these two unique problems: Red plates. Temporary license plates. Rote Kennzeichen. You can get one if you've got a business dealing with cars which would require you to move or test drive unregistered cars frequently. The catch is: You likely don't have a business. You also don't have the specialized insurance required for these plates. And god forbid you want to deal with the drive logs you need to provide to keep the plates.
Well, thankfully, there's uncle Mike. See, uncle Mike has one of those slightly shady used car lots. Uncle Mike also isn't the brightest bulb in the box, so he's got someone else who deals with the legal stuff.
Of course, lending someone the red plates is strictly prohibited, but Mike doesn't have the strongest morale when it comes to these things. "Dem Belasco cops always get on my lot for no reason!", he says.
So anyway... thanks, Mike! Just make sure to keep it between the white lines and under the limit, because Mike hasn't been too prompt on the insurance payments.
