With the boom of Japan's economy in the 90s, Ibishu gave their engineers an almost unlimited R&D budget to develop some truly insane tech. The VRi-Tec 4.0L V8 and TechnicaTrac selectable all-wheel drive were their crowning achievements. Different versions of the V8 made their way into both the 1991-1994 200BX and the 1990-1991 Pessima, while the TechnicaTrac AWD was exclusive to the Pessima.
For decades now, tuners have seen the potential in both platforms and developed continuously more powerful and more extreme aftermarket options for both vehicles.
